Housing Opens the Door

Community Lights the Path

The thought of a child turning 18 and suddenly being forced to face the world as an adult with nowhere to go, no family for support, or life skills to lean on is unacceptable.

The System Ends at 18 –
But Their Needs Don’t

Each year, about 15,000 young people in the United States age out of the foster care system — turning 18 and entering adulthood without family, stability, or a place to call home. For many of these young adults, that moment marks not a beginning but the start of an unstable, risky journey. Without support, housing, or guidance, the results can be devastating.

By the numbers

What happens when youth age out of foster care:

0

Youth on average age out of Florida’s foster care system every year.

1 in 4 young men face incarceration in the first two years

3 in 4 will experience unemployment

1 in 4 young women become pregnant before age 21

1 in 3 will live below the poverty line

1 in 5 will face homelessness

2 of 4 will have a history of domestic violence

How Our Model Works

Housing for Young Adults Aging Out of Foster Care

We purchase homes and partner with trusted organizations that provide wraparound services, creating stable housing where young adults can receive the support they need to transition to independent living.

Attainable Housing for Foster Parents and Family Reunification

We make homes more attainable for foster parents, helping reduce the cost-of-living burden, so more families can say “yes” to fostering youth in need.

Funding Gaps in Wraparound Services & Programming

We cover the cost of critical wraparound services and programming—such as life skills, education, employment support, transportation, and mental health resources—so youth and young adults receive comprehensive, consistent care.

Our Vision for the Future Starts with You

Home by home, we partner with business leaders and community organizations to build strong foundations for South Florida’s most vulnerable. By providing housing and adding critical services, we offer stability and the essential tools to create opportunities for independence.
